The former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, asked Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to form an inclusive government or to resign.

Blair said in a televised interview carried by the Middle East News Agency that the “U.S. President Barack Obama was right to offer assistance to the Iraqis, but not without demands for reform.”

Blair said “It much easier for the United States of America and the others to help if there is an inclusive government in Iraq that could have the backing to combat extremism.”

Blair was asked whether the Iraq war in 2003 is the basis of the current crisis, he said, “I did not try to evade responsibility; we bear the full responsibility for what we have done.”
